- 01Therapy Berlin is a brand run by a Fashion Designer Duo formed by two argentinian sisters, focused on upcycling and creative reuse of materials, creating wearable and non-wearable items and objects run by these women in Germany and Argentina. While the name includes "Therapy," it does not provide health-related therapy or medical services. Instead, the "therapy" aspect reflects a therapeutic process of creative creation, enabling self-expression and identity exploration, in this case, through design and sustainable creativity. The project aims to empower its community by encouraging and motivating them to be more create or even transform materials into unique fashion pieces themselves as well, fostering personal growth and cultural connection rather than addressing physical or mental health directly. For this they offer workshops, talks and classes, apart form the production of their collections
- 02Therapy Berlin is a German-based fashion designer atelier located in Berlin. While the project is run by migrant women from Argentina, the company itself is established and operates from Germany. We also have operations in Argentina, there we source, produce and sell products locally, the same as in Germany. Eventually we move materials from one destination to another in our own bags when we personally travel between continents, but every "hub" has its own local sourcing and production.
- 03Our materials are carefully sourced, primarily utilizing pre-existing fabrics, materials and garments that would otherwise be discarded. These materials are collected from local donations, textile discards, fleamarkets, and surplus stock within Berlin, ensuring sustainability and minimizing environmental impact. We use some new components when we are unable to find them second-hand. These include: threads, and metal components such as rivets, eyelets, rings and chains. In this case, the materials are sourced locally, or at least as close to our location as possible. The furthest we allow materials to come from is Europe. We do not purchase products from websites that ship directly from Asia. This is not a nationalistic attitude, but a way to reduced the carbon footprint by avoiding longh travels for the materials.
- 04Yes, we welcome donations of pre-loved, vintage or deadstock clothing, textile, leather goods, accessories and haberdashery materials that can be creatively upcycled as part of our fashion design projects. - 05Every piece is meticulously sewn in-house by our team based in our atelier. - 07Yes, every piece from Therapy Berlin is one-of-a-kind. We specialize in fashion upcycling, transforming discarded materials into exclusive designs crafted by ourselves in Berlin. This process not only ensures that no two items are identical but also reflects a deep exploration of identity and self-expression, but also a commitment to material efficiency and zero-waste practices. By combining creativity with sustainable practices, each piece embodies a unique story and artistic vision, making it a distinctive addition to your wardrobe. We repeat techniques, so we can achieve similar pieces and make our style reconisable, but there are always differences as the base material is always different. We do sometimes produce same items in small series, when we find a material in larger quantities.
